Embracing Change in the Present Moment

A beautiful camping trip last month in central Oregon. The skies were blue and the air was clean and crisp.
“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.”— Abraham Maslow
Hello everyone!
Spring has sprung and I am feeling it….how about you? Everything around us is changing with things springing forward….how about you?
As Abraham Maslow wisely said, “In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.” Changeis a constant in our lives, touching our bodies, thoughts, emotions, beliefs, relationships, and passions. To navigate change with grace, we must cultivate awareness and remain fully present, allowing us to choose growth over fear.
Angela Y. Davis reminds us, “I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept.” True changebegins within us. It requires a daily surrender, a letting go of the need to control others or external circumstances. By transforming our own perspective, we plant the seeds for meaningful change.
Recently, I faced a health scare that sent me to the ER with heart concerns. For four days, I was consumed by fear, fixating on “what” and “why.” On the fifth day, a dear friend reminded me of my inner truth, helping me shift my perspective. I returned to my yoga and meditation practice, surrendering to the present moment. Though milder symptoms persisted, I continually chose to release the past and embrace the future with hope.
This week, I invite you to notice what unsettles you—those things beyond your control. You have the power to choose: accept what is, distance yourself with love, or engage in clear, constructive conversations without expecting others to change. By staying present and surrendering to each moment, you create space for growth and peace.
Let’s walk this path together, choosing growth and inner transformation.
With deep love and gratitude and living life with fierce compassion,
